Well, everyone, I knew this day would come eventually. A couple months ago, I had Dennis Ritchie on my mind a lot and thought how many of us wouldn’t be where we are now if it were not for his contribution to the creation of C, a programming language that has changed the face of software development, and UNIX, the operating system of which much of its code base and structure, unknowingly to most, is the most prevalent even in today’s computing environments.
Last week, we said our goodbyes to a visionary. Today, we say farewell one of the great architects.
